Kasong Driving School – Terms & Conditions

  1. Introduction

  • By booking or purchasing any driving lesson, package, test preparation, or other service from Kasong Driving School, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. These terms apply to all students and are subject to applicable South African laws and consumer-protection legislation.

  1. Bookings & Payments

  • All lessons and packages must be booked in advance and are subject to availability.
  • Payment must be made before the service or package commences, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Kasong Driving School accepts EFT, cash, and other approved payment methods.
  • Driving test packages cannot be converted into driving lessons, and packages may not be transferred to another student unless approved by the school in writing.
  • Government/DLTC fees, eye tests, photographs, and other third-party charges are not included unless specifically stated.

  1. Refunds & Cancellations

  • Refund requests must be submitted in writing within 14 calendar days from the date of purchase of the package.
  • Refund requests received after the 14-day period will be declined, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
  • A 15% administration and cancellation charge may be deducted from an approved refund, where applicable and permitted by law.
  • The value of services already provided and any non-refundable third-party costs incurred on the student’s behalf may also be deducted from the refund.
  • To request a refund, the student must complete and submit the school’s Refund Request Form, including accurate banking details and any required supporting information.
  • Once Kasong Driving School receives the completed refund form and required banking details, an approved refund will normally be processed within 21 working days.
  • Refunds will be made only to the bank account details provided by the student on the approved refund form.
  • Nothing in this policy limits any consumer right or remedy that cannot legally be excluded or limited under South African law.

  1. Package Validity & Expiry

  • All driving lesson and service packages must be used within 90 calendar days from the date of purchase, unless otherwise agreed in writing by Kasong Driving School.
  • Any portion of a package that remains unused after the 90-day validity period will be forfeited without refund, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
  • Students are responsible for scheduling and completing their lessons within the applicable 90-day period.
  • Where exceptional circumstances prevent a student from using a package within 90 days, the student may contact Kasong Driving School before the expiry date to request an extension. Any extension is subject to the school’s approval and applicable law.

  1. Driving Lessons – Cancellation, Rescheduling & No-Shows

  • Each lesson is provided for the agreed duration.
  • Students must arrive on time. Time lost because of late arrival will normally not be added to the lesson or refunded.
  • At least 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a confirmed driving lesson.
  • If a student cancels or reschedules a confirmed lesson three (3) times or more, the affected lesson(s) may be considered forfeited and will not be rescheduled or refunded, subject to applicable law.
  • If a student cancels a confirmed lesson after the instructor has arrived at the student’s agreed location, the lesson will be considered completed for that day and will be deducted from the student’s package.
  • Late cancellations and no-shows may result in the scheduled lesson being forfeited.
  • Students are responsible for ensuring that they are ready and available at the agreed time and location.

  1. Student Requirements & Conduct

  • Students must hold and carry a valid learner’s licence when required to drive.
  • Students must follow the instructor’s safety instructions and all applicable road-traffic laws.
  • Dangerous, abusive, disrespectful, threatening, or disruptive behaviour may result in the lesson being stopped and/or services being suspended or terminated.

  1. Driving Test Bookings & Rebooking

  • Kasong Driving School may assist with driving-test bookings but cannot guarantee a particular test date, availability, or test result.
  • Applicable packages may include up to two (2) driving-test booking opportunities, subject to the package purchased.
  • If a student cancels a confirmed driving test, fails to attend, or is unable to proceed with the test, the student may be required to pay the applicable booking/rebooking fee before another test can be arranged.
  • A second test booking opportunity will only be available if the student still has one test opportunity remaining under the applicable package.
  • Once the two test opportunities included in the package have been used or forfeited, any additional test booking, vehicle use, or related services will be charged separately at the school’s applicable rates.
  • Students are responsible for ensuring that they are properly prepared, eligible, and available to attend their confirmed test.
  • DLTC/government fees, test dates, availability, cancellations, and requirements remain subject to the relevant authorities.
  • Kasong Driving School cannot guarantee that a student will pass a driving test.

  1. Safety & Liability

  • Kasong Driving School takes reasonable measures to provide safe, properly maintained and legally compliant training vehicles.
  • Students must follow all safety instructions provided by the instructor.
  • Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits any liability or consumer right that cannot legally be excluded or limited under South African law.

  1. Anti-Corruption Policy

  • Kasong Driving School has a zero-tolerance policy towards bribery, corruption, fraud, or any attempt to unlawfully obtain a learner’s or driver’s licence. We do not offer or accept payments to influence test results or government officials. Suspected unlawful conduct may be reported to the appropriate authorities.

  1. Code of Conduct

  • Students and instructors must treat one another with respect and professionalism. Harassment, discrimination, intimidation, threats, or abusive behaviour will not be tolerated.

  1. Privacy & Personal Information

  • Personal information provided to Kasong Driving School will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy and data-protection laws. Students must ensure that information supplied to the school is accurate and up to date.

  1. Photography, Video & Marketing Consent

  • Photographs or videos may be taken during lessons, training, events, or other Kasong Driving School activities.
  • Separate consent will be requested before an identifiable student’s photograph or video is used for advertising, marketing, social media, the Kasong Driving School website, or other promotional purposes.
  • Where consent is provided, Kasong Driving School may use the approved photographs or videos for promotional and marketing purposes without further payment to the student.
  • Students may choose not to provide marketing consent, and declining consent will not affect their ability to receive driving school services.
  • Students may contact Kasong Driving School to withdraw marketing consent for future use, subject to applicable law and material that has already been lawfully published.
  • For students under 18 years of age, appropriate parental or legal guardian consent will be obtained before their identifiable photograph or video is used for marketing purposes.
  • Kasong Driving School will handle photographs, videos, and other personal information in accordance with applicable privacy and data-protection laws.
  1. Complaints
  • Students are encouraged to raise any complaint with Kasong Driving School as soon as possible so that the matter can be investigated and addressed fairly.

  1. Amendments

  • Kasong Driving School may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The latest version published on our website will apply to future bookings, subject to applicable law.
